After eight years, we have decided to return to the UK for family reasons. This has not been an easy decision. While living here we have relished the peace and quiet of the area, the hot summers, the long warm autumns (which continue well into December), the opportunity to linger over lunch with friends under the oak trees in the corner of the garden, or to sit on the west terrace and watch the sunsets. This is a great house for entertaining, whether it be friends or bed-and-breakfast guests. (We use one wing of the house for bed-and-breakfast visitors and are in the current edition of Alastair Sawday's French Bed and Breakfast Guide: 'Special Places to Stay'.)

Manent-Montané is a small but friendly village which holds regular fêtes and soirées and we have always been made to feel welcome here. We will miss it.

The house and garden are both in an excellent state and the property can be moved into tomorrow without so much as changing a light bulb.
